State of the Field: A Conversation

The third Hanafi School Workshop, to be held at ISAM between June 7 and June 9, 2023, will feature an opening session where Prof. Dr. Mürteza Bedir, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Fadel, and Prof. Dr. Wael Hallaq will discuss the past, present, and future of Islamic jurisprudence. This debate, conducted in a panel format, will take place in the ISAM Conference Hall on June 7, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM.

The Hanafi School Workshop, which aims to explore the history of Islamic jurisprudence within the framework of the Hanafi school, considering its turning points and continuities up to the present, had its first edition in 2018 in the Netherlands and the second in 2022 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The third edition will be held from June 7 to June 9, 2023, at the Center for Islamic Studies.

The language of the panel is English, and there will be no translation provided. The opening panel, titled "State of the Field: A Conversation," is open to the public, while the subsequent sessions will be closed
