He was born in İzmir in 1977. He completed his primary and secondary education, as well as his Qurʾān memorization training, in Istanbul. After graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 1999, he completed his master’s degree (2002) at the Department of Religious Education, Institute of Social Sciences, at the same university, and his doctorate (2013) at the Department of Kalām, Basic Islamic Sciences Division.

In 2002, he completed the specialization course in preaching and muftiship at the Haseki Training Center of the Presidency of Religious Affairs. He served as imam–khaṭīb, preacher, and mufti in various provinces. On 18 July 2012, he was appointed to the Presidency of Religious Affairs’ Directorate of Ḥajj and ʿUmrah Education.He has also served as Director-General of Religious Publications. He is still serving as an Advisor to the Presidency of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı)
