The protocol aims to prepare, publish, and digitally disseminate an encyclopedia covering the theoretical, practical, and applied knowledge systems developed during the classical period of Islamic civilization, as well as related personalities, works, topics, concepts, objects (tools), and institutions. The encyclopedia will examine the history of Islamic science in a holistic approach within its geographical and historical context, and will include traditions and representatives that influenced Islamic sciences. It will also cover personalities, works, and topics from different regions such as China, India, and Europe that represented the Islamic scientific tradition.
This collaborative project is part of the thematic encyclopedia series launched to enrich and update the Turkey Diyanet Foundation Encyclopedia of  Islam (DİA) in all fields, aligning with contemporary needs.
